The last week has seen the announcement of the release of two American TV programmes on region one.
First up is the gangster comedy The Sopranos. The Sopranos: The Complete Third Season will feature all 13 episodes from the series. Here's what you can expect from the boxset:

Released a month later is the popular American comedy Friends. Warner have have recently released the 1st series on region one and now they have announced Friends: The Complete Second Season. Here is some information we have about the collection:

I haven't been around for the past week so region one news hasn't been updated. I will try and get up to date over the next day or so.
The first bit of news is that Paramount have released information about the new "Director's Edition" of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. This two disc set will feature the following extras:

Ocean's Eleven is coming to Oz (Region 4) at 11.07 on 16/05/02 |

Roadshow have announced the specs for the upcoming release of Ocean's Eleven.
The film boasts an all-star cast including George Clooney, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Don Cheadle. It tells the story of the dapper con man Danny Ocean (Clooney) who enlists the help of ten of the best crims in the business to pull off an ambitious theft from three Las Vegas casinos. This Steven Soderbergh directed flick is pure entertainment at its best. So are you in, or are you out?

Universal Releases for July (Region 1) at 10.43 on 16/05/02 |

Universal Studios presents the DVD release of K-9:PI, the new action-comedy with straight to video guru James Belushi. Belushi is joined by K-9 partner, Jerry Lee, teaming up again to chase hi-tech criminals. The DVD version is priced to own at $US19.95. A K-9:PI DVD 2-pack, which includes K-9 and K-9:PI, is also available for $US39.98 S.R.P. Look for these two from July 30, 2002.
Next on the release schedule from is Dragonfly, the supernatural thriller starring Academy Award Winners Kevin Costner, Kathy Bates and Linda Hunt. This suspenseful thriller is in the vein of The Sixth Sense and The Others.
Dragonfly will hit DVD from July 16, 2002 and is priced to own at $US19.95. |

Bttf.com claims to have the official list of special features from Universal Pictures International Video for the impending DVD release of the Back to the Future trilogy.
The three films are to be featured in a boxset, with the original film also available separately. Unfortunately for fans one of the most eagerly anticipated and widely speculated bonus features (The Eric Stoltz footage) will not be included. The pain stops when you consider we not only get the films on DVD (finally) but over 10 Hours of Bonus Material.

Momentum have just announced the two disc release of Amelie less than a month after the single disc version. The Oscar nominated French movie has received great acclaim worldwide. Here�s what you can expect from the two disc special edition release:

Hoyts and Columbia Tristar join forces to provide more DVD (Region 4) at 08.37 on 09/05/02 |

Due to the extraordinary depth of penetration that DVD enjoys in Australia, cinema chain Hoyts has enlisted the services of Columbia Tristar to provide a distribution chain for Hoyts DVD titles into the Region 4 market.
Over the next three years, this deal will bring approximately five titles to the market in the first year, and 10 to 15 in subsequent years.
In the first year, titles will include Monster's Ball with Halle Berry, Van Wilder: Party Liaison starring Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid, and Carolina starring Julia Stiles and Alessandro Nivola.
