Caine plays Billy, boxing promoter come Cockney gangster. A proud, bullying and larger than life character, Billy sees his long awaited chance to make it to the big time by arranging a world title fight between his heavyweight son, Golden Boy, played by Matthew Marsden, and the vicious American champion managed by Shiner�s adversary Frank Spedding (Martin Landau).
