Thirteen Ghosts (Region 2) at 19.27 on 19/06/02
Columbia TriStar have just announced the region two release of Thirteen Ghosts. This is a remake of the classic 1960's horror movie. Although the movie performed poorly at cinemas the DVD release looks impressive.

Here is a brief outline of the movie:

A family inherits a spectacular old house from an eccentric uncle (Abraham). There's just one problem: the house seems to have a dangerous agenda all its own. Trapped in their new home by strangely shifting walls, a father (Shalhoub) and his children encounter powerful and vengeful entities that kill anyone in their path. Soon the family is joined by an offbeat ghost hunter who is determined to free the spirits imprisoned in the house. Caught in a frantic race to save themselves before it is too late, the human inhabitants realize the house is a machine built by the mad uncle to unleash the dark powers of the underworld. This is a remake of the 1960 horror film from the king of horror gimmicks, director William Castle (The House on Haunted Hill).

Here's what you can expect from the release:

  • Widescreen 1.85:1 Anamorphic transfer
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack
  • Audio commentary from director Steve Beck
  • 'Making Of' featurette
  • 12 additional featurettes
  • Trailer
  • Filmographies

Thirteen Ghosts is released on 22nd July and will retail for around 19.99.
